Photo Journal: How we spent our week!

It’s that time of year again! Spring is here, yards are being attended to and kids are playing outside. I LOVE this time of year. And as an added bonus: the nephews are playing soccer! Which means it’s a great opportunity to practice with my camera! In fact, pretty much everything we do is an opportunity to practice. Here’s a photo journal review of what we did this past week.

Since we were getting ready to celebrate Hubbalicious’ birthday – we made a cheesecake (with his mom’s delicious recipe) and of course – Dominic and his friend Jayda helped out!

It turned out delicious and the kids had a great time. I think tasting the sugar was their favorite part! Although they definitely enjoyed pounding the graham crackers into tiny bits also. I love that Dominic is getting old enough to enjoy doing things like this with me! It’s so fun. :o)

Then on Hubby’s birthday, he actually came home from work early! So we played outside. He had bought some vegetables and wanted to plant them into a little garden. I knew Dominic would LOVE this, so I pulled my camera out and snapped shots while they worked. My absolute favorite moment of this day, was when Tim added some rope to our gate in the backyard, so he could reach it and work it on his own. So Tim showed him how to use it and you should have seen the pride on his face when he did it by himself!! Check out this cuteness:

Of course, if I had known how to adjust for the sun setting, this picture might not have turned out so orange… but I have to give myself time to learn and stop being so critical. I know I’ll get there as I keep practicing. I absolutely LOVE watching Dominic discover and learn how he can do things on his own. He’s always so proud of himself when he learns a new skill! It makes me feel so good as a Mom. This is how our afternoon went:

Even the dogs enjoyed the beautiful weather! This is Keno. He’s part pit bull and something else… we don’t know what. He’s been with us as long as we’ve been married. He is Tim’s best bud.

And this is Josie. She’s a Silky Terrier that we’ve had since right after my hospital stay. I think she’s about 5 years old now. She’s totally spoiled and thinks she’s in charge. Keno just lets her think that because he’s sweet. But we all know the truth.

We had such a great day. I love days like this where we can just be outside and enjoy the weather and each other’s company. I hope to spend many more days like this. I know Dominic will love it – and our yard could definitely use it!

On Saturday, the boys had soccer games! And of course, they played at the same time – so we had to divide and conquer. Tim, Dominic and I went to Tyson’s game (that his Dad coaches). Lindsey, and my parents went to Ben’s game. So I only have pictures of Tyson’s… and he scored the first goal of the game! He celebrated like this: (He’s #10 )

And some other shots that I thought were fun from the game:

I think Dominic is excited to play… what do you think? Well, that’s pretty much how our week went. How was yours? Did you do anything fun?

What fun pictures! I just enjoy having my children engage in outdoor activities with me. There is never a dull moment with their innocent questions and discoveries. Hopping over from the Throwback Thursday Link-up Party :)

Thanks! Yes, I was just making a video today of him learning his ABC’s and I’m just so full of love and pride, watching him learn and soak up information everywhere he goes!

Haha Kristin, that’s totally not normal at our house either. :o) Which, is probably why I thought I should blog about it. We’re typically pretty chill on the weekends. Thanks for stopping by!

Thanks Destiny! It’ll be really fun when my little is ready to play soccer with his cousins. I think he’ll love it. But for now, he’s just a happy to hang out in the garden with Dad. :o)
