If you’re a regular visitor to my site, then you may have noticed that I’ve been working to add some pages with all the important information that people need to know about Crohn’s Disease. My goal is to create a space where someone who suspects they may have Crohn’s or has recently been diagnosed can come and get the information they will be seeking. A space where any and all IBD patients, no matter how long they’ve had it, can come and find support and share experiences. A space where those who have loved ones with IBD can come for tips and advice, and find ways to help, while also receiving support for themselves.
So while, I haven’t written a regular post in a couple days, I have been diligently working on updating and re-organizing the site. I’ve also had some invitations to write on other sites, which is so exciting!! And I’ve been working on that too. Exciting things are happening over here at Life, Lemons & Lemonade! I hope you’ll stick around and follow along with me on this exciting journey!
In closing, I just want to share a neat little experience I had today. The quote that I display on my header image is from a greeting card that I found about 6 years ago. It was shortly after I had gotten out of the hospital, after being there for over 14 months. I was just starting to try and get back into the swing of things and live a normal life. One day, I found myself shopping at Whole Earth Provision here in Austin and browsing the greeting cards. I found one that I absolutely fell in love with. The words hit me so hard, and tears just started streaming down my face. It was as if those words had been written just for me, as motivation to let go of the hardships I’d been through and go live the life I was meant for. I bought the card and hung it on a bulletin board in my office. I treasured it for years and continued to be inspired by it, day in and day out. I feel like my life changed that day, as silly as it sounds… that was the day that my dream of this blog was born. Maybe I didn’t even realize it at the time – but it was that day that I knew I would pursue my dream.
Well today, one of the girls from The Great Bowel Movement contacted me and mentioned that she loved how I was using one of Curly Girl Designs’ quotes on my site! Before that, I had no idea that the quote belonged to Curly Girl Designs, and I was so excited that someone recognized it, and told me who it belonged to! I immediately found her website, and contacted her. I shared with her my story and thanked her for the motivation and inspiration that she had unwittingly provided me with for all those years.
I hope you have something that motivates you. What inspires you?
