We Moved In! Come Tour The Suncliff House!

My initial plan was to sit down tonight and write a post about our experience in buying this house. It’s been a bit of a roller coaster, after all. But honestly, I’m so excited to just share our pictures with you, that the other post will just have to wait. There is a lot of work to be done on this little gem, but we’re super stoked to get started. While the sellers did some cosmetic work before they put it on the market, there are other, larger ticket items that still need to be done… HVAC, Roof, Electrical. It’ll be a long road, but we love it here already… even in all the 70’s glory. So without further ado, pictures of the house! Oh, and because I’m so… honest and real, you can expect pictures to show our mess, because we’re moving and unpacking… so that’s just how it is. We’re already getting started with changes, so I had to get some “before” pictures taken right away!

Isn’t she just precious?? I mean… those windows, right?! Those are going to need to be moved up on the priority list, because they are really bad. But the oak trees… pretty much worth the entire purchase price right there in the front yard.

Next is our entry hallway, and the most run-down front door you’ve ever seen. Hubbalicious has already been working on this one. He had to repair the locking mechanism and sand down the side of the door so it wouldn’t stick so badly. I literally cannot wait to pick out a new front door. It will be amazeballs.

The family room is off to the left and is open to the fireplace living room and into the kitchen area. It’s a very open floor plan, and we’ve been really happy with it so far. Notice we’ve already been testing colors. I hate that new construction-builder grade goldish-beige paint. I just can’t get it off my walls fast enough. And since my floors are grey… I’m exploring other options for the wall. We’re playing around with a soft blue option, which is something totally new and different for me, so we’ll see how that goes.

I just love all the huge windows! I mean, they need to be updated… but there’s just so much natural light in this cute little place! Check out this adorable little breakfast nook. I can’t wait to get a table in there, instead of a cooler. :o)

And then of course, our kitchen…. which is covered in all kinds of stuff that needs to be put away. Right now, the kitchen is kind of our catch all work station as we unpack and use all the tools for repairs. So, please excuse the mess.

You can kinda glimpse into our formal dining room… And then the other side of the kitchen looks out into the living room. Maybe someday we’ll turn that into an island, for an even more open feel. Who knows! The possibilities are endless, and that is so exciting to my home design-loving heart. :o)

Of course, last but definitely not least… our very favorite thing about this house so far… the backyard. Y’all, I’m not kidding when I tell you that the lot sold this house. We are sitting on half an acre and it is so great to have a little space to spread out! Not to mention the mature trees all throughout this entire neighborhood. This picture only captures about half our yard, because it’s huge. We are so happy and excited about it!

So there it is, friends! Thanks for checking out our new place! I can’t wait to keep you posted as we embark on this journey of fixing this place up!

Beautiful house indeed! specially loved the backyard where you have started landscaping it and making it even more beautiful. As a roofer the only thing that worries me are the trees towering over your house, please have them pruned so that they falling branches and other parts do not damaged your roof.
