Oh my goodness. Easter is right around the corner y’all! I was at Target today (my favorite place) and I saw this:
You’ll be impressed to hear that I made it out of the store without buying anything that was not on my approved shopping list. But seriously.. do you love this holiday?! I’ll admit, I haven’t always loved it. For so many years, it was just the holiday that competed with my birthday. Even though, yes of course, I know and understand the religious meaning of the holiday – there just wasn’t really a whole lot that we did to recognize it. Church of course, and hopefully a Christ-centered conversation or devotional. But I mean, it’s not like Hubbalicious and I were setting up Easter baskets for each other, or hiding Easter eggs for the other to find. We’re two grown adults, and that would just be silly.
…Or would it?
Now that we throw a fairly large Annual Easter Celebration – I’m really kinda wishing we had done it sooner. I look forward to this party every year. The friends, the family, the candy, the eggs, the bright colors, the welcoming of Spring!! Oh, I’m really loving this holiday. Most importantly, the very special meaning of this weekend to Hubbalicious and I. 2 Easter weekends ago, we took our amazingly beautiful son to the LDS San Antonio Temple and were sealed together as a family for time and all eternity.
Words can’t even describe the feelings of that day… but let me try anyway. I have never felt so much love and gratitude in one special moment, ever. We finally had a child in our lives, and our sealing meant he could be ours forever. No matter what. Adding Dominic to our forever family is the best thing we’ve ever done. And every Easter we celebrate the heck out of it. Would you like a sneak preview? It usually looks a little something like this:
And maybe if we’re lucky… we might see this guy again this year:
Honestly, I can’t wait… plans are already formulating in my head. After cruising (but not buying) the Easter section at Target, I’m feeling super ready to celebrate this wonderful day. Won’t you join us? How do you celebrate Easter?
