You know what I love about Sundays? …Everything. It’s my favorite day of the week. Sundays always center around family time and everything that you cherish. Yesterday was no exception. Even the smallest of activities, when done with people you love, is building memories.
When I was a kid, one of my favorite things to do with my family, was game night. We played a lot of cards, but first, we always made milkshakes. There’s something about those homemade milkshakes… they are just so delicious! It’s a tradition that we’ve loved continuing in our home with D. Anytime we mention “making milkshakes” he gets so excited. To him, it’s just a delicious treat. But for me, it’s remembering my childhood, and building memories with my boys. Funny how much you can get from a milkshake, huh?
These are the moments that we cherish, and that I hope my little D will always remember. I definitely remember them from my childhood and they are my favorites! Want to make homemade milkshakes at your place? The recipe we use could not be simpler, check it out:
Homemade Milkshakes Recipe
- A couple scoops of Blue Bell Ice Cream in a cup (We like Cookies & Cream at our house, but any flavor will do)
- Add a couple splashes of milk
- Mix with a spoon or immersion blender until you get the consistency you like.
- Add whip cream to the top (if you like that sort of thing)
Easy right? Not even worth writing down, because it’s that easy. But there it is anyway.
What are some traditions you’ve brought into your home from your childhood?
